Pueblo Bonito - Towers at Pacifica

I was so so excited to experience this brand new “hotel within a hotel” and it did not disappoint. Stepping out of the SUV, we were handed deliciously cold cherry mojitos and welcomed into paradise. From the top-notch butler service to the delicious fresh seafood, we were treated like royalty from start to finish at this luxury hotel. The elevated Towers experience is a fantastic all-inclusive addition to an already beautiful resort. Read on to learn more about our experience!

Location: 4/5

As you crest over the hill that is the entrance to the Quivira complex, you see nothing but the expansive ocean and high-end homes and hotels dotting the edge the cliffs. The Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is located at the bottom of the hill on a stunning, secluded beach, bookended by two cliffs. It’s about a 45 minute drive from the international airport (SJD) and 15 minutes to Cabo San Lucas. The location itself is absolutely stunning, but be warned: there is no swimming on this beach, as with most of Cabo. Instead, you will find several pools overlooking the gorgeous beach where you can lounge the day away.

Lobby & Check in experience: 4/5

Max and I had the pleasure of staying in the “Towers at Pacifica” which is a luxury hotel within a hotel that Pueblo Bonito recently introduced to the property.  The Towers comes with your own butler, access to a beautiful, oceanfront VIP lounge and upgraded in-room amenities.

When we arrived, we pulled up to the lobby of Pueblo Bonito and it was gorgeous. The spa scents, clean lines and sound of water trickling around the indoor water feature made me instantly relax.  The Towers are actually their own buildings on the far side of the property but are built to look just like the rest of Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and blended in beautifully.

As a note, there was some confusion during the check in experience that could be improved. We were unsure about where the Towers actually were located because when we arrived on property, we did not go through the normal in-room check-in experience. Nonetheless, the experience was still wonderful. The Towers experience comes with a 24/7 butler so we were greeted by Feliciano who checked us in and whisked us off to do a tour of the property. He showed us all the features of the hotel as we wandered along the beautiful grounds to the VIP lounge. We absolutely loved the desert oasis that is the Pueblo Bonito. The intricate, beautiful sand art and perfectly placed cactus and palm trees made the property feel lush and cared for. There were also so many different water features throughout: from flowering rivers to big pools hugging the walkways.

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica only has 154 rooms plus the 47 rooms designated for Towers guests, so overall, it’s a very small property. It felt intimate and easy to navigate as we were touring the property with Feliciano. It was a stark contrast from your typical all-inclusive hotel where you feel like you’re constantly getting lost.

After a tour, we went to the VIP lounge for a bite to eat since our room was not yet ready. The food and service at the VIP lounge were excellent and we’ll discuss that more below. The VIP lounge is aptly named “Whale Watching Lounge” because in Whale season, you can sit out on the patio and watch the whales breach in front of your eyes, just 100 feet from where you’re sitting. I imagine it’s an incredible experience to witness the majestic whale life, with a nice cold margarita in hand.

Overall, I believe the check in experience would have been 5 stars, but because of how new the Towers experience was, there was some confusion about how the check in process worked overall. However, they made the best of it for us with a great tour ending in with several glasses of wine and absolutely delicious seafood.

Rooms: 5/5

Once our room was ready, we checked into our Towers Ocean View Suite and entered our own personal heaven. The room was so lush and beautifully decorated.  The Towers Ocean View Suite comes with a full living room, dining area and separate bedroom.

The living room and bedroom both had a connected balcony with a gorgeous view of the ocean. I loved the thorough and thoughtfully considered details throughout the room. It almost felt like every detail was hand picked for the room you were standing in, down to the 12 pillows on the bed (talk about LUSH). They offered a pillow menu and we tried the orthopedic pillows the second night.

The in-room bath amenities were lovely. While I typically I prefer mini-sized toiletries at a luxury hotel, the scents and quality of the products made me think differently about their approach. We also had a locally made soap that smelled divine. There was a rain shower and separate bathtub that gave the bathroom a great spa feel.

The TV had plenty of English channels, which was amazing because that’s not super typical of Mexico. I appreciated having some good TV to relax. Overall, the room is incredibly comfortable and an amazing retreat at the end of the day. The views of the sunset were just spectacular from our balcony overlooking the ocean and the property. I truly believe that there’s nothing better than waking up to the sound of the ocean, so this did not disappoint.

Facilities: 5/5

The property has everything you could possibly need, including an award-winning spa that we did get to try (and it lives up to its hype).  The Armonia Spa was an incredible experience and I can genuinely say that I had an amazing massage (and I’m typically very, very picky). We had an 80-minute couples massage which included a foot ritual in the beginning that really added to the experience. The facilities at the spa were 5 stars. They had a small steam, hot tub and cold plunge available to all spa guests. They use Natura Bissé products, which I absolutely love and it was all around a great experience. I can see why they have won awards- they are very well deserved. The spa also offers discounts for repeat customers and I thought that was a nice touch. Max decided to test out the salon and had a haircut which was a great value at $30.

The property also built a brand new fitness center. It’s located oceanfront right below the VIP lounge so you have no excuse to not work out. The views are incredible and everything is brand new.

The beach and pool areas have full service so you can lounge all day on a beautiful beach cabana and order drinks, food and water. We loved the beach cabanas and despite not being able to go in the water, enjoyed the views and tranquility. One of my favorite features of this property were the plentiful beach cabanas. They were so relaxing and beautifully decorated with big comfortable mattresses and pillows. I absolutely love the beach cabana experience.

Dining: 5/5

There were 4 restaurants on property, as well as 4 bars and dining at the Quivira Steakhouse located at the golf club available to guests.

The VIP lounge available to Towers guests is an oceanfront masterpiece. All day they offer wine, drinks and snacks, as well as lunch. Every evening they have different tasting experiences: tequila tastings, sashimi and cooking classes amongst others. They also offer pairing experiences, however, we didn’t get to try it this time. I have no doubt it would be an excellent experience.

On the first night, we dined at Peninsula for dinner the first night and the view, service and food were absolutely spectacular. I have a confession to make: I have never tried lobster and enjoyed it….that being said, this lobster was not like any lobster I’ve ever had. The lobster, lamb and fresh fish were to die for. The restaurant had beautiful decor with firepits everywhere and comfortable, stylish furniture.

I didn’t think a meal could get any better until we went to Quivira steakhouse the following night. Josue (the restaurant manager) as well as Carlos (the head chef) took incredible care of us and made us feel like we were dining with old friends.

It’s clear that the restaurant takes great pride in their work and you could feel the positive energy and care that went into every dish and interaction. Quivira Steakhouse is located next to the clubhouse of the Jack Nichlaus Signature golf course, overlooking the beautiful coastline.

We were invited to experience another special treat at breakfast the next morning. We were served breakfast in a beach cabana and I’ve decided that is the way breakfast should always  be served. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic beach breakfast. French toast, omelets, Benedicts…it was all excellent.

For those preferring a more traditional breakfast, Siempre has a great breakfast buffet and the service there was also exceptional. The restaurant is set on top of the main pool and offers beautiful views of the property.

We ordered lunch to our cabana both days, which is how we prefer our beach days. They serve a large assortment of lunch items and drinks straight to your cabana. I know…tough life, but someone’s got to do it.

Service: 4/5

While housekeeping may have a few things to work on, overall, the staff were incredibly kind, helpful and skilled. Feliciano, our personal butler, gave us his phone number so that we were able to text him anytime. He was super responsive and always around to usher us to the next activity, reservation or cabana. He was helpful, friendly and very on time (despite our constant tardiness). The restaurant and beach staff were also professional and efficient. We really enjoyed getting to know some of the staff, especially up at Quivira restaurant and it made us feel so welcome at the property. Pueblo Bonito clearly cares about their team and they all work really hard to make their guests happy and relaxed throughout their stay.

Style: 5/5

The style felt so authentic! We loved the desert landscape of the property. The water features, cactus and sand art all over the place were truly incredible and well maintained.  It’s amazing to think that every day, someone has to go and create all the formations in the sand around the property and we were so grateful to wander the grounds and experience the beautiful landscape. Great lounge music was always playing at the restaurants and beautiful firepits lit up the bar at night.

Overall: 4.6

Overall, we really enjoyed the luxurious experience at the Towers at Pueblo Bonito. The staff really made you feel special and valued. They worked incredibly hard to make you feel like this was the vacation of a lifetime. Nothing was too much to ask, no matter the time. At the end of our stay, we had no desire to leave our perfect beach cabana or our beautiful suite. I highly recommend the Towers experience and would love to return.
